Review.

Following an impressive supporting role in Michael Mann's Heat, Ashley Judd appeared in a series of adequate thrillers in the late 1990s and early 2000s - including the likes of A Time To Kill, Kiss The Girls and Double Jeopardy. Philip Kaufman's Twisted is not one of them. 

In Twisted, Ashley Judd plays Detective Jessica Shepard of the San Francisco Police Department. A woman on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Her character is a moral mess, whose habitual lack of self-control results in a series of alcohol-fueled, one night stands.

Her lack of self-respect and promiscuous behaviour makes her character impossible to identify with. Combined with a screenplay riddled with plot holes and by-the-book clichés, appalling acting and a thriller devoid of thrills, Twisted is certainly one to avoid.
