In keeping with the likes of Netflix's mid-budget action adventures, the likes of Red Notice and Spenser Confidential, comes The Adam Project, another Netflix original film with a functional narrative but little substance.
The Adam Project sees director Shawn Levy team up with Ryan Reynolds once again following the pair's collaboration on Free Guy. Levy has assembled an impressive cast - joining Ryan Reynolds are Zoe Saldaña, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Catherine Keener. But this talented ensemble is woefully underemployed. Keener's villain Maya Sorian in particular needs infinitely more character development. Her motivation is preposterous. Her security squad is inept.
The Adam Project is easily consumable, undemanding and instantly forgettable.
